Sorry, so far I hate doing anything that interacts with Base “Free” “Fee of .0007” “You need < .0012” “Insufficient funds” I’ve minted one thing since the base adoption and it’s annoying crypto centric steps continue to make me care less. I don’t want more crypto, I want less

Is your issue here with Base or with Zora?

Which user hat do I put on? As a normal user: does it matter, the experience sucks and this is supposedly good As a crypto user: Zora should calibrate me to the final price in the first step and then get rid of 3 views of different sub totals. As me: I don’t get why base exists, bridging for gas alone sucks

I get what you’re saying re UX I just mean the source of problem seems to be Zora’s biz model not the specific L2 being used? (Ie, whether Zora, Base, OP, etc) I personally bridge to Base to save a couple orders of magnitude on gas txns while still exchanging credibly neutral value. Or bc the NFT lives there….

Explain that last part because polygon has lower gas per txs last I checked. How are you saving on gas other than the nfts are on that chain? Why is bridging saving you gas?

Bridging is simply what you have to do to get ahold of the L2 token. Bridging itself doesn’t save gas — doing the bridging allows you to save gas on the future txns with that token Polygon is also an Eth L2. Just with a different approach than base to making things cheaper on their layer L2

Take eth from L1 over to L2 for the sake of gas just irks me in a lot of ways I guess. Bridging is an attack vector + a gas required transaction. I’d rather take my card, buy some matic and then mint the nft $14 in gas not a good way to save on gas If this was on polygon gas would have been pennies
