Socrates flagrantly challenged the city of Athens — esp in his own trial — by refusing to use rhetoric and subjecting politicians to philosophic challenge

His friend Xenophon argues that Soc purposefully incited death to prove to future cities that philosophers could be trusted

would you say socrates ultimately failed at this?
