During a reading group yesterday, I had a breakthrough in my understanding of Aristotle’s ethics. (And I very much believe it applies to life as I live it.) It’s so rewarding and surprising when discovery happens with a text you’ve spent many years with. Human conversation is powerful.

sharing and trying on different perspectives is magic.

100%!!! And that’s what reading itself should be! Well said. Trying on the perspective of the author, like an actor reading a screenplay for their role.

i find myself doing that often -- but then there's more magic when you and someone else both read the same book attempting to do the same thing and then take away two different things... then share those and then find more and more brilliance. Sometimes "golden" bits that actually shape you in a new way forever -- only to shape the people that YOU interact with. It's a beautiful stone soup of fun. Glad you had one of those special moments.
