people on Twitter/Fc love to put the blame for inflation on the money supply or call out Powell as a „bond villain.“ But, e.g. the PATRIOT system, which is essentially a bunch of trucks, costs $1.1B! And it has no economic purpose but to kill/defend. Think about this that next time u want to blame central banks

The replies are gonna be: „oh but how can you say that!? Putin started the attack war, Ukraine needs to defend its territory“ and whatever. OK. But there are qualities to directing a war in certain way, e.g. deescalating. The reality is that we‘re now paying the costs through inflation.

as much I hate mosquitos, I cognitively entertain the nuance that they provide a major food source to other animals. maybe there's no direct economic purpose to kill/defend/deter, yet at the same time I can see money circulating, so it's nth-order. also not a fan of the cost disease, which is an oligopoly problem.

Ppl don’t realize that centralized banking is a good thing; the same types of folks who cite national debt as a concern (if it were paid off in full the economy would shrink and you’d all lose your jobs)
