I wonder what % of YC W23 startups will have to pivot because of GitHub Copilot X and ChatGPT plugins? Growing conviction that AI will be a sustaining technology vs. disruptive technology. Hugely important, but less likely to create new startup unicorns.

but aren‘t there research papers also stating that you can train a ChatGPT equivalent model by using the ChatGPT API itself (same quality)? So it looks like a nothingburger if none of the training results in proprietary software.

Unless by "prop software" you mean no longer paying OpenAI for API calls (?), it arguably already has led to those results? Just started demo-ing Casetext's Co.Counsel, a legal domain-specific AI they say is "built" on GPT-4. $500/mo. https://casetext.com/cocounsel/
