Watched it. Super reasonable take to me tbh. Citizens should have legal right over what happens to their data and a general protective law in the states is overdue and could fix a bunch of issues. Ppl could still opt out to sell their data then.

I see it more like a citizen right. So e.g. GDPR gives EU citizens super powers because we can just send emails to tech companies demanding a bunch of stuff and they‘re in for some wild fines if they don‘t comply. I used this right already a few times against dark UI patterns to have my data deleted.

Interesting. I hadn‘t thought about it in that context. But then it sounds like she‘s and other left wing influencers are totally missing the point.
