2/7 🧡 Pectra ▢️ Hoodi forks tomorrow (26 Mar). How did it go? ▢️ Audit competition ends right before the call. Updates? ▢️ Doubt we get a mainnet date but we could get a commitment to pick an epoch on the next call based on how Pectra settles on Hoodi & how testing goes

A new testnet, Hoodi, has been launched to help wrap up Pectra testing. Stakers, this is your new testing ground πŸ€– Pectra will activate on it next Wednesday. Holesky will be maintained until September. It still works to test everything, except for validator exits 🫑 https://blog.ethereum.org/2025/03/18/hoodi-holesky

ACDE#207 Recap: A new testnet, Hoodi, is going live Monday to wrap up Pectra testing, if you need to test validator exits, be on the lookout for it! Everything else can be tested on Sepolia & Holesky. Pectra will be scheduled 30+ days after Hoodi forks successfully, pending infra and client testing. Fusaka planning will run in parallel, with a deadline of March 24 to propose EIPs, and a tentative date of April 10 for a scope freeze 🫑 Full recap is up on EthMagicians: https://ethereum-magicians.org/t/all-core-devs-execution-acde-207/23020

Well, seems like I jinxed it πŸ˜… We're investigating an issue caused by the custom deposit contract on Sepolia. This has caused some EL clients to have issues including transactions in blocks.

And, last but not least, I'm thrilled to see Danny joining Etherealize. "The Most Important Scarce Resource is Legitimacy" and I can think of no one else who could do a better job of helping bootstrap an organization that will carry the torch (and then some!) to get Ethereum adopted at scale. There's a lot of work ahead of us and we shouldn't delude ourselves into taking for granted that Ethereum will succeed at the level of its ambitions. That said, we now have the best structure we've ever had to give us a fighting chance.

I'm also delighted that the two of them will be able to rely on the wisdom and insights of both new and seasoned contributors. Ethereum's culture is unique and this is the result of both top-down and bottoms-up influence. With Aya as president of the EF board as well as formal and informal advisory circles forming, I'm confident Ethereum will remained anchored to OG values while staying relevant for newcomers.

Tomasz is the only person I could imagine coming into the EF from the outside and hitting the ground running to help us accelerate. He's built a client from scratch, scaled Nethermind as one of the most successful independent Ethereum organizations in the space and travels the world non-stop to meet Ethereum builders, researchers and users. I'm stoked he'll be working with us! Hsiao-Wei is one of the very few people who has been involved hands on in Ethereum's transition to "Eth2" from the very beginning. She literally made the first diagram that showcased how sharding was supposed to work πŸ˜„! Her deep context about how research evolves into specifications which end up in production clients and perspective as a long-time EFer uniquely complements Tomasz' background.
