This is wild. Despite fewer votes than in the last two elections, Labour has twice as many parliamentary seats. Even democratic countries in the world are wildly undemocratic. We have a long way to go.

First Past the Post is a bad system. Canada has the same problem. Parliament is a good system but it needs to be combined with proportional representation to function with any kind of semblance of reflecting the will of the people. It’s like how having a president who is elected by anything other than popular vote makes no sense. And using some kind of obscure electors is just about as undemocratic as one could imagine, especially if that person were given real authority…

I know that the fear is elitism of the cities, but the current version is essentially oppression of those who have less access to information. We need votes to matter and have relevant checks & balances to prevent elitism.
