re, /degen channel spam: @v has proposed a one-time fee to post in the channel (unless you get banned, in which case you pay again). Prototype would be warps (off-chain points), then transition on-chain to $degen (eventually).

Should /degen charge $degen to cast here?

I don’t believe this will have any positive effect on spam and could deter folks who could otherwise come, add positively to the vibe, and become degen-rich one day. 

It feels like the kind of thing that guarantees a pay to play, rich get richer environment.

I’d like to see more folks try other methods that are not financial like contributing to moderation. Or, if financially related channels, use things like staking/LPing etc.

I believe a low fee does absolutely nothing because anyone can afford and a high fee excessively gatekeeps. That’s why I’m so opposed. I just don’t see it working for spam.
