It seems to me it’s just clever smart contract, not a token standard. In that sense I’m pretty sure it’s fully supported technically. But in that sense I don’t think it’s an ERC standard at all, but rather a meming of the name like BRC-20 on Bitcoin.

I have concerns that this may not have genuine technical support and may have been promoted solely by social media influencers.

1. ERC404 is a joke.

2. The fungible tokens exist only when the NFT has been burned to release new fungible tokens. Both forms aren’t available simultaneously.

How exactly does ERC-404 combine ERC-20 and ERC-721 into one?

What can I do with 404s exactly? What are my options? Like can it be listed as an nft and also sold as a ERC-20 token without any wrapping?
