Yes the system is deeply deeply broken. I think the only point of Mark’s response and my comments about it are it shows that these folks think Trump is stupid and easy to use for their needs, and they are, I believe, correct.

And given that their needs will by nature be at odds with the needs of the citizenry and the norms of democracy, I think that will be somewhat if not extremely unprecedented in the form it takes.

I think within the context of the bizarre American pharmaceutical industry, it has been a net good. But I think it’s a workaround for a much bigger problem. I think capitalists, free-market absolutists, and American-exceptionalists should see it as innovative and masterful.

This one is also born within the system right, to not be a workaround there would need to be a change of people in charge and defending those policies + change and perhaps removal of unnecessary regulations
