I truly don't understand people on the left who are so vehemently anti-crypto https://bsky.app/profile/silent-john.bsky.social/post/3lgr2ucjgtc25

To be critical of heavily financialized things is understandable. The problem is that a lot of folks lack nuanced critiques or ideas about how to solve these issue and choose not study or be creative. It’s a shame but there will be a catalyst at some point Im certain.

I will add though that I can’t see the left being pro-bitcoin. Austrian economics are just about as right wing (and absurd) a thing as someone can believe in and they feel essentially incompatible with most leftist economic theories. Ethereum is different in that it employs truly free market ideologies in a way that is compatible with market-driven leftist approaches. This is probably where the easiest bridge across the divide can be made. At least in my opinion.

Need a narrative to help people mentally separate the asset used to provide secure guarantees VS the asset that we can issue which has "fair and equitable distribution" by whatever metric. If they can understand stablecoins, they should understand the rest but maybe TerraUSD set them back a few years.
