Every single convo I have with people not in crypto goes like this 

“…and then people can see how much money I have and what I’m buying? Why? I hate that.”

I might die on this hill but the idea that most people want to show off their money, or use that as their social graph, feels wrong.

I’ve argued before that until there are easy, private ways to transact, no one should even want to use crypto. 

It’s fine to have the ability transparency, and we’re certainly exploring how that can be used for interesting metas, but the default should be completely private, or at least a hybrid like what Aztec has proposed.
