your high drug prices are primarily caused by your broken healthcare system with tons of bloated admin/middlemen, not america sacrificing itself for the greater good.

came here to say this. tons of drugs and medical science coming from outside the us. you aren't subsidizing anything and are really a siphon on the public good that is medical science through disgusting patent practices

What % of those drugs are then sold in the US. The company we’re talking about is a multi-hundred billion market cap company because they can sell drugs more expensively in the US.

I don't understand. Am I supposed to be excited that they have hundreds of billions of dollars? What percentage of that is reinvested versus what percentage is paid to C suite + investors?

If you think that pharmaceuticals just magically appear and are not the result of billions of dollars in failed other drug R&D and the only way they get funded at-scale is through capitalism, well then agree to disagree. :)

that's the opposite of what I said. my point was that the majority of the money is just waste (profits) that doesn't benefit the process. they are sucked up to the top and not deployed for the greater good you're demanding thanks for.
