youre kidding ... you have aviaries!! no fricken way! this is one of my fav things in the entire world! 

its been a long time, but when i was younger all i wanted was outside housing for my parrots & finches. so my dad built me these HUGE walk-in aviaries & i just LOVED them!

i had finches, rice parakeets, quakers, amazon parrots, african greys &  cockatoos (a few kind - umbrella, sulfer crested and moluccans)...and my fav thing to do was to go and sit on a little shelf/ trap door he built me and read. 

my parrots were some of my greatest friends & protectors...that probably sounds weird, but i was young and they adored me as i adored them :) kinda totally wild that you just so happen to have aviaries in your backyard -- def not the norm ... and most people have no idea how amazing birds are. looks like you have some finch nests? so cool!

right!! i think that is so odd! i love it! yesss, we had zebras & javas finches and some of the rescues ended up being quails, doves, many mocking birds, a seagull (named kivi - i did get to release him - found him stuck in an oil spill), a pelican once (fish hook - released — kinda mean lol) and always the blue jays bc they are always fighting! 

that is so crazy! they are so magical! if i can find a pic someday ill post them. they were about 30x10x10 ft high — we enclosed an old swing set and he made it so wonderful! i miss having birds! do you have a favorite?

Yeah, we have sparrows, bul buls, shama trushes, cardinals, zebras, saffrons, javas, meijiros, all kinds. All rescues that we couldn't release, so they are permanent residents now.
