Moving from B2B SAAS to CPG made me appreciate all the other types of people who have switched careers - you basically start over with 0 knowledge and connections. Has anyone here changed careers/industries? And what has that been like for you?

Started as an accountant. 1st hop: operations at big tech. 2nd hop: strategy at start up. 3rd hop: full time trading. A lot is only in your mind. It’s as hard or as easy as you believe. Yes it can get tough on some days (lack of technical expertise) but imo it’s the r/n that sells, not technical know-how.

This is a topic that’s very close to my heart. I used to deal with insecurity and imposter syndrome regularly. All is gucci now, as the kids would say. Because I rmb why I wanted to hop around: to really experience life as I want it. And it’s very non-linear.

Your last line hits so hard. “I remember why I wanted to hop around. To really experience life as I want it. And it’s very non-linear”. That’s so awesome. Thank you so much for sharing!

I’ve so many thoughts on this topic but that’ll do. Hope you find peace & joy (corny, I know) on your path. I don’t know if you’re selling candles full time. If so, I can appreciate the biggest changes since I moved from corporate to “self-employed”: the uncomfortable distribution of revenue over time.

I don’t know how easily offended you are or what your kind of humour is: watching the great comics really spurred me on (especially the last 6 months). Dave Chapelle is one of the best. Lots of wisdoms that can really help the self employed, or just anyone. Just a thought.
