Nuclear waste can be recycled — the French, Japanese and Russians do — and there are a bunch of companies aiming to do just that in the coming years.

And, *even if* it could not be recycled, the amount of waste generated is absolutely negligible compared to the energy produced + we know how to store waste underground in a very secure manner. I could understand the nuclear waste argument for very tiny countries where space is scarce, but in the US....

I agree! But there’s value in establishing a reprocessing industry if only to offer countries we are seeking to export our technology to the same full suite of services Russia offers
