I’ve seen articles/videos saying how your long run should only be 20-30% of your weekly mileage. But if applied to my case, the long run is only about 2km more thn a normal run haha. Should I ignore that rule and go higher? Or just focus on increasing my overall mileage everyday.

how long is your normal run? 2km more is not a long run 😅 for example I run 13 km as "normal" and 20 km as long (with a total weekly mileage of 50/60 km)

So I was planning to run ~5km 4x a week and wanted my long run to be 10km (total of 30km weekly) But that’ll make the long run 1/3 of my weekly mileage haha. Planning to increase the overall mileage over time ofc.

a "long run" should be at least 1:30 hours, plan accordingly to your running pace.
