I had a post go somewhat viral on Facebook yesterday. It was a "hot take" screenshot I snagged and shared while I was stoned scrolling. Sure didn't think it would end up with hundreds of comments and thousands of reacts and shares. I'm in the creator bonus program, and that post which got 600,000 impressions made $21. It wasn't *my* writing, it was just a random screenshot of a post from another platform because Facebook prioritizes memes and clickbait over thoughtful text posts. But here on Farcaster? My words, my own ideas, netted me over 10k in degen tips. Didn't need to go viral to do it, just showed up and wrote what was on my mind, had interesting conversations on other people's casts, and just generally enjoyed myself. Super easy to get hooked here. I started exploring crypto based on a "nudge" while I was in meditation pondering what I'll do with a windfall I'm expecting next year. Did not expect that to lead me to such a delightful place!

I'm so happy you like it here because since I've read 2-3 of your early casts I was hoping you would stay. What you are talking about are @jacek's degen incentives, highly efficient in motivating "unusual quality", like yours. There is a problem: how to scale something unusual? We need millions of users and there are no millions of @thecurioushermits. So the Farcaster community developed another, egalitarian token, moxie. Coming very soon. https://warpcast.com/wake.eth/0xba50ac09

I am very much one-of-a-kind, but perhaps I can be part of paving a way for other creators to come over and build an audience here. I really like to experiment with social media. I'm wicked good at it, and I like to play around to see what works. Farcaster is still a lot of tech people and very few creatives have heard of the place, but that will change, especially as buzz builds about the results of these widescale experiments in attention economy.

That is another problem, yes. I think creators who like to experiment with social media are rare. There is a deep divide btw the tech/science/business/finance world and arts/humanities world. I started with crypto and web3 because I was looking for the reasons why in the XXI century our Western societies started to disintegrate. Imho it has a lot to do with the way we make and use money, and with crazy inequalities. But how to scale experiences like yours and mine, and bring more writers, social activists, artists, thinkers, etc. here in a more systematic way?
