That's why I said "appears".  If I thought it was actually self-aware, I'd have said "is".  But I didn't.  Because words have meaning and I'm very precise about which ones I use.

That being said, you can't even prove to me that *you* are actually self-aware and not just giving the appearance of being so.

It's one of the tricky things about consciousness.

just because something APPEARS to understand/be aware doesnt mean it actually does.
