As a parent, how highly do you value fostering independence in your children? Personally, I value it very highly, a bit higher than my wife, and I'm curious if that's a typical mom/dad dynamic or not.

my wife has taught me to value very highly, from when they were really young. Can proudly say, they put on their own shoes, clothes, they feed themselves, & clean themselves in the bathroom etc. They recently turned 3 & 5. It’s been an amazing life hack & so happy my wife convinced me to push them
