I’m in Belgrade this weekend to cheer on @hamdi and @zain in their first half Ironman! they’re absolutely crushing so far

@hamdi was so quick in the transition that I couldn’t get a proper photo, basically could only catch him riding off into the distance 😂

I promised myself I’d catch @hamdi on the next lap, but dude is so fast I only got him riding off again. He’s CRUISIN

by the way, the weather is EXTREMELY crappy. it’s 10 degrees and raining sideways. it was colder when all of this started.

Finally managed to catch @hamdi, first on the last lap of the bike and then again on starting the run! Here is he saying that he got a flat and patched it himself 😮

Zain got scooped up prematurely by some Belgrade traffic cops, but spirits here are still good! what a phenomenal athletic achievement all around

lol no trouble! he just was cutting it close to the cutoff and they pulled him out of the race so they could start reopening the roads. but we later checked the cutoff times and they should’ve let him keep going :/

only about half the folks who started the race finished, they were quite aggressive with the cutoffs!
