politely yell your thoughts with good intentions. somebody who believes differently will politely yell back. have a polite discussion. try to see other side more than you did at the start. continue on with your day. everything works better when you just do the yelling out loud. even if it’s uncomfortable

It’s the other person being polite that is the problem. I have been involved in way too many “debates” on the internet that turned into people not arguing in good faith but attacking me personally because they don’t agree and then trolling other posts I made even to a stalking degree. It can escalate to dangerous levels, especially if you aren’t anonymous. Some people just have too much anger and frustration and will latch on to others as outlets for it. So it’s not easy to even start a controversial conversation when you don’t know what crazy person might engage with it.

This is sensational if people act in good faith on both sides of whatever the issue is. Far too often we see, and the topic is almost always irrelevant, no genuine desire to have a constructive conversation around disagreements. I would love to see this differently and have much more productive and constructive conversations around *anything*.
