i built a catapult for the medieval fair in middle school. it was ~12” x 5” or so and worked really well. shot mini marshmallows. father was carpenter. so he took it way too seriously. and it kicked ass

I had to build an elastic band powered boat thing, and my dad decided to weld a metal fan to act as a paddle wheel, to a metal frame with an industrial sized band. Almost took my fingers off 😂
