Damn. It is crazy to witness these ethereum upgrades go live. Feels like upgrading a small country, but oh, so much more orderly than that would be.

I agree. How else could you get 10s or 100s of thousands of people to try out a testnet? It’s an incredibly useful service these people are providing as long as their activity is directed well

I’ve started exercising my agency on twitter already. I guess I should post here as well 😁

We do! I’ve been scouring the internet for zk memes but theres only a handful of good ones and they are mostly from the Mina community (props to them for even that handful)

Recently discovered that Mina Snarketplace has an interesting problem: someone is producing proofs for free and because the system is purely price based, this removes incentives for everyone else to participate. It’s a kind of attack. If everyone else stops participating, this one prover starts to dictate liveness.

We’ve run a bunch of the provers from the arkworks library in WASM: https://github.com/arkworks-rs

A big part of aztec’s pitch is that you could zk something centralized like google auth, which could be used to tie two seed phrases together (not necessarily google specifically). It’s trusted but private and we mostly accept similar trust assumptions all the time.

I think all the first gen asics are designed for Aleo, but if Accseal’s design is still the same as ~1yr ago, there is some programmability in it. At least when I spoke to them they had an embedded cpu for some flexibility.

One underappreciated aspect of blockchains is their ability to search for cost savings for running hardware globally. This is something that centralized companies can’t do practically speaking.

Is everyone here signed up for the @gevulot devnet? Launching march 25th and free for registered users. Supports deploying provers, generating and verifying proofs and proof storage. If interested you can sign up at gevulot.com

DA + persistent storage is really interesting. AFAIK only Zero Gravity is working on this combo. Argument is you could remove the need for rollup full nodes entirely. Anyone got any hot takes on this?

Btw I dont know if this is a hot take but I dont think proof markets make any sense whatsoever. They quite literally offer no guarantees at all while all the usecases need liveness/availability/pricing guarantees.

@gevulot can only do validity proofs so it works for stuff like aztec aggregation proofs but not the client side proof. It is possible to do decentralized proving with privacy guarantees with TEEs or MPC but the overhead is significant.

Wow some early internet vibes here. Anyone interested in discussing decentralised prover networks? (I work on @gevulot)
