would love to hear reactions — both agreements and disagreements — as we take a deep dive into memecoins as part of the /manysuchcases pod. to encourage debate, i'll tip my degen to those who share quality reactions to parts of the episode, whether it is memecoin spectrum, value drivers, zero sum approach, etc.

I used to be conflicted about them for a wee bit. That’s changed. Fun topic, I’m looking forward to this.

everything is a meme coin to a varied degree. once someone understands this, they become less hostile towards the idea. give me any asset; and i will spin it into a meme coin for you.

disagree with your take "when memecoins take off it hurts the platform's UX" and your example of Degen impacting the Warpcast experience Warpcast was incredibly boring before the energy of $DEGEN for users like me, it was a 10x improvement in the product some people like them, some people don't, majority like them

I’m still listening but I think it’s near the end. Very insightful info and I’ll be frank and say - I’m surprised with how little you spoke, Ted. I’m used to hearing you engage a lot more so that took me by surprise I loved that this was how you onboarded her onto pump.fun

When organic, around a communal natural event: fine, it serves a purpose as an indicator of a social movement. Otherwise, they showcase the insincerity of people who proclaim they are here for change. They are emblematic of everything we despise in web2 and the foreshadowing of repeating those mistakes in web3.
