as a user i also value genuine engagement but as a founder in the ecosystem i value growth my POV is that it’s net positive for FC growth because it’s a good signal for new users (who aren’t accustomed to farcaster culture of genuine engagement/convos) that those accounts are casting here seems good for devs?

is it actually good for growth tho? if I scraped and reposted luma events on eventcaster then that would be "growth", but not the kind of growth I want. I get that it makes the new user experience more rich, but if users can get the same content on twitter plus a lot more, and they don't already feel bought into the culture, why would they stick around? Open to being wrong and maybe I'm not the target user, but this alongside with the power badge removal makes my experience on here worse, because it makes me question whether a cast or account is someone I should respond to.

culture > growth the best things take a long time. for example, Warren Buffet actually had a third business partner who was just as smart. But he was in a hurry and got wiped out. So no one knows about him most overnight successes took years in the making

I genuinely don’t get it and I’m pretty sure I have some care cred here. All it’s done for me is give me x click bait and every click ruins my day. The stream on x (and mine is highly curated to positive people and legit news to reduce the shit) is nothing like fc as x is just low value rants into the virtual sky by entitled people with a messiah complex. On fc it’s largely people being careful to be positive or engaged in something positive and I don’t see any messiahs except in x cross posts. The meta question for me is - is the only scale message market and behavior defined by x already like the ketchup recipe, and so pursuit or scale just requires that recipe. More than happy for fc to do what it needs to do and live long and prosper. But, users will decide what they think of content and if they don’t like cross posts, they can’t be told they should. 😀
