how do we feel about hustle culture? i just read a tweet (which i cannot find now thankfully) framing your choices as poverty or buying into that toxic culture. hustle culture influencers make me irrationally angry because of how they're either unaware of or ignore their overwhelming survivor's bias.

i work incredibly hard (one could say "hustle") to earn a great living because, to me, money can provide security and freedom — two values that are of peak importance to me and building a family. i don't view my valuing of money as materialistic, but can understand how others with different values may see it as so.
