two v important apple questions: 1. i should wait until the fall to get the new iphone, right? assume the hardware will be better to support apple intelligence 2. worth it to get the apple watch ultra? i'm active, will likely do a tri soon, starting to go out w/ just watch, no phone more often

I have a Garmin Forerunner 945 with the GPS subscription. I love and recommend it. The GPS sub has the benefit of: I don't have to take my phone, and my wife can track where I'm at and send me a message, and I can send brief replies. Also, if I get hit by a car or push a button 5 times, EMS will be alerted.

thank you, no other smart phone capabilities though? the calendar and siri integration (for reminders) may be key for me from a productivity standpoint

No Siri (no voice chat + AI stuff), but I get calendar reminders, notifications for SMS/Messenger/Signal/whatever, can select a quick-reply message to text back (works on all messaging apps I've tried), etc. Whatever notifications pop up on my phone, I can have show up on my watch. It has more accurate fitness tracking, but I don't think it's as pretty. Battery lasts longer (I charge once a week).
