a common theme across the 50+ interviews we've done in the last 10 days is that it is HARD for new users to get started, know where to cast, find their footing and like-minded people. starter packs, /gmfarcaster, FC newsletters, and finding a "onboarding buddy" help — what else? what needs to be better? how?

Channels support newbies. It's where we find non-tech content we can understand and contribute to. We find our first frens and community. Helping channel owners and mods create the best channel possible benefits everyone. Encourage average users to launch channels so more voices emerge as leaders. Channel academy, maybe?

Made my comment before seeing yours. Totally agree. Would help if new users were incentivized (maybe not financially) to create new channels

I'm thinking about this a lot as my channel is growing. It takes effort to moderate and curate ideal behaviors. I'm engaging with every cast to build relationships and buy in, and to correct behavior. Members also help new members they invite to follow rules. I'm considering creating a norms document for members and officially inviting more members to help moderate. I'm hoping to foster a sense of shared ownership. The @cura leaderboard will help by highlighting members who contribute the best content. This helps newbies. And the leaderboard is based on in-channel engagement, so the community reinforces desired behaviors.
