serious question: when the memecoin gets nuked and the price tanks, what happens to people’s sense of entertainment or loneliness or fulfillment?

I think it’s good to call memecoins what they are: A lottery ticket with a community I think they have huge potential for positive sum building on top of this very powerful core product (see degen!), but it’s probably healthiest and fairest to users to call them what they are

If we consider trading meme tokens in the same way as gambling in a casino, people become exhilarated, and their bodies produce the same levels of adrenaline and endorphins when they win or lose all cryptocurrencies are meme tokens even bitcoin.

Believe it or not, what happens is the same thing that happens to gambling addicts when they lose a sized hand: a big dopamine hit. So it's still, technically "joyful".

Your question inspired me to write this and also now I want research of some results of most known memes, that would be interesting.

I think there’s still something there tbh People lose money sports betting with their friends all the time With L2s and Solana you can easily just bet 5 bucks on a meme coin for fun and I feel like that kind of changes things It’s still fun with friends even if you lose money (so long as you can afford to do so)
