after this experience, i reached out 1:1 to a mix of 30 non-crypto people — tech-forward engineers, founders, execs. 85% regarded crypto + blockchain as different. they value blockchain, not crypto. one even said, "when i hear crypto, i immediately think "scam". and people think memecoins will solve our PR issue?

how do you think the industry's perception impacts our ability to deliver on crypto's full potential, both in terms of technology and culture?

agree with @dwr.eth’s point re: who cares what other people think but the biggest impact i’ve seen to date is on talent imo crypto’s reputation makes it harder than other industries to attract and retain high quality talent

Talent will come if prices are up. Talent has churned in the past because infra was lacking. That’s not the case now.

sure, but until prices go up imo crypto’s PR issue makes recruiting harder compared to other industries. not unique to crypto and could also be true of nuclear or defense when media pushed a negative narrative of them. difference is that those industries don’t attract the short-term grifters that crypto does.
