gratitude cast: imo, one of the most underrated design decisions on Warpcast is that recasts don't show on a user's main profile page after using X more for CTG, i found it impossible to get a sense for who someone actually is when their profile was full of retweets which only signaled associations and not values

This small thing makes recasting feels more like boosting or supporting rather than persona signaling. Visiting profile is like visiting someone’s home :)

I hadn't heard about stated/revealed preference before joining Warpcast. It's fascinating. I've been thinking about recasting for weeks. If asked to state how I wanted recasting to work, I would have said it wrong. My preference is how it is, but I wouldn't have said it right a month ago.

I’ve seen a lot of scam accounts on X that take advantage of this They will often imperosonate someone and then recast all their tweets If you don’t look closely it looks like legit activity!

Very good point. I was just thinking about this on X and i think this especially is true for incentivised communities like crypto where people maybe reshare more than an average social media user.

I do like that as well but what is the point of a recast if nobody sees it? seems like its just adding to the load and bogging down the farcaster servers with casts that nobody really sees.
