i've been begging @br1an.eth to implement token-gating for months. this would take a competent mid-level engineer about half a day to ship, but for brian, 1-2 weeks (so i understand his hesitation). tho making simple calls to an nft contract onchain is a bit over his head, i will nonetheless keep working on him 🫡

anyone who suggests we token-gate fundamentally doesn't understand live-streaming and how difficult it is to get people to show up at a specific time. adding additional constraints to entry is mid IQ.

unlonely is about creating new novel experiences that anyone can enjoy. end of story.

imo the VIP chat they implemented is a poor implementation of VIP chat

ideal world for me is i stream, lots of people show up, but i only text-chat with people who hold the CLUB TED token in the VIP chat

i don't want CLUB TED to have to pay for VIP chat and then pay more as more people buy it
