agree it could be argued but in the context of his recent tweets there's heavy subtext wrt understanding how people really think - do you think an elon musk poll on x is an accurate representation of what people think? (genuine question)

Since Britains are being arrested for social media posts it’s clear they don’t have free speech and a poll like this can help gauge the sentiment where ppl are not afraid to participate in therefore it does help understand peoples views.
