I’ve fallen deep into the home automation rabbit hole the past few weeks. 

Some things I’ve set up:

- lights turn on when entering a room (via motion detectors) and off when exiting
- adaptive lighting adjusts light brightness/color based on time of day 
- home security arms & all electronics turn off when asleep, based on iPhone focus mode/charging/time of day

Home Assistant is extremely powerful (but rocky UX at times)
