yes, mainly because it's been brute forced into me due to spending a decade+ in the US however, i've come to like doing it on my own terms - ~$5-10 depending on type of service i'm receiving (restaurant, taxi) still hate the concept of it having to be a fixed percentage though...

Itβs off the charts in Canada, 18% is the norm and growingβ¦ even for self service and take out.

yea, absolutely ridiculous in these cases π i remember going to a "local" cafe in DC a couple years ago, ordered coffees + pastries and tip machine default asked for 18% so i paid it because "support local businesses" finished and was leaving when one of the servers asked me if i could clear the table we used...
