I recently had a discussion with the CEO of a headphone company who wants to do some kind of web3 rewards program. I'm wondering if people here have any thoughts about companies introducing web3 features that probably aren't completely necessary?

So without a sort of network effect, they are better off with regular web-nothing rewards. But, the play that would work is if the rewards were somehow part of a broader positive-sum ecosystem. Headphone purchase gives you an NFT that comes with free 3 month membership of Tidal, or 10$ off concert tickets.

If the user has control over which reward they want to select, and the partner company has an easy way to validate and consume this reward. This is where the future of rewards should be going.
