I really dislike the “nobody reads anymore” take. Feels manufactured by those who make money off of you spending time-on-platform to watch their videos.

Sure, not everyone is sitting down reading longform writing or a book every day. 

But plenty of people do! And others are happy to read short form if it’s of interest (Twitter!).

It’s basically that the “proof you see” is based on what’s visible to you. So if you see everyone drinking tea, it might not be that everyone drinks tea, but that you are in a context where people who drink tea are the only people allowed — you can search “survivorship bias” for more info
