As in all business ever, value accrues in two places: the platform and the owner of the end customer relationship.*** Middleware gets collapsed into zero margin eventually. *** returns not guaranteed https://x.com/masonnystrom/status/1808615578699272253?s=46&t=35-PVao8ZGgO54RWjlFoZg

as mason mentioned, the so called "middleware" are increasingly building their own applications while rent seeking from other apps relying on them; so the converge between middleware and apps is seemingly inevitable 300$farther

From an other pov, we call middleware the piece that **can** get collapsed into zero margin. I mean, things in the middle of the chain also have customers (the next link for example). If they can't be squeezed to zero margin, we usually change our pov and redefine the chain in a way that they are at the edge. "Edges are important" vs "Edges are defined by importance"?
