can someone be unworthy of trust and still worthy of forgiveness ??

Absolutely. Forgiveness is given because we extend grace, not because they deserve it, but because if we hold on to the anger, it breeds contempt, eventually damaging us & our character.

Forgive, but don't forget.  You don't have to place trust in them...but it's important to let go for our own sanity/peace of mind and mental health.

I know many people who can't seem to let go of past trauma and the ways they've been violated....It tears them up, they tend to become bitter because they constantly relive the experience by holding on to it.

I say, forgive often.  Learn from the experience.  It makes us better people.
