What are the useful products where ZK provided a necessary unlock?

Obviously @zkp2p, that was absolutely necessary. Proof of Passport and zkified identity. Private P2P payment pools. I'm interested in seeing more "layered anonymity" applications, a la zupass. I have a bunch of data and can choose to disclose a part of this. That I'm French, that I'm over 18, that I live in Paris, for other applications to consume. It helps bridge the gap between the panopticon of blockchain (everything is public) and the panopticon of data management from private companies (everything is private but owned by meta). You choose to selectively disclose who you are, at your own pace. That's a level of control we've never quite seen, neither in the decentralized web3 internet, nor in the federated web either.

I agree, @0xsachink et al spotted a brilliant opportunity. This example reinforces the point I will make in my talk though ;) How about a product that doesn’t use zkTLS?
