Wild take considering Farcaster had a few hundred daus until we memed $degen into the broader cryptosphere which ballooned users - which he then leveraged into a 150m raise.

It was frames. I’ll never forget frames weekend. Frames popped off which is what made degen pop off which created the feedback loop. But frames was the trigger.

Nah I see it like Oxen.

Frames was a nice additional narrative for farcaster/degen but more of a local story (not many onchain transactions etc) while degen was on a crazy 1000x run fueled by a wider base season.

Also saw Alex, the drakula guy, claim he caused the first degen run - when he in fact benefitted a lot from the active degens that handed ecosystem users & apps wins (tips and real degen tokens). Similarly added fuel to the run, but was essentially paid by degen (for degen).

Hence, farcaster benefitted from base season because degen token built momentum for a few months by OG degens and was memed as the base (x farcaster) token with the best fundamentals and got buy in from all of crypto twitter.
