As an example, a chat w @flexasaurusrex unearthed a memory of mine. Worked at an old timey place in college. They used a risograph to print stuff (probably considered much cooler today than at the time)

One thing abt printing ppl is that for the rest of your life you will be able to guess the texture and weight of any paper you touch 😅
