Confession: the rewards leaderboard has been deterring me from wanting to make new content. 

I feel like I’m someone who puts a good amount of effort into my content, and definitely a lot with my scripted videos. 

I see a lot of people who make amazing, thoughtful content and never end up in the top 5.

Interesting...I've never paid attention TBH, I just like waking up one morning with a notif that free money was airdropped to me.

But now that you mention it, it kind of reminds me of college admissions: ultimately, there are so many great students who would do well, but you have to take a snapshot in time for a fixed number of seats. The real world doesn't work this way, everyone can win because the economy is not zero sum. Similarly, a more patronage based Farcaster economy should be the goal, the leaderboard is really just a temporary experiment. I felt the same way about 'streaks', which obviously would lead to quantity over quality.

There was no reward for streaks though? Right? 

And yeah the leaderboard is experimental. I think it was an interesting experiment but I wonder if it’s just encouraging the wrong kind of content.

Yeah I think the reward was just a badge showing your streak on your profile
