i think this is partially true, but i think ethereum is much bigger - consensus is important to more digital systems than just those for finance

BTC is to currency what Ethereum is to stocks.

for sure, but i don't think bitcoin has to go away for ethereum to take its own path.

personally, i think bitcoin will have too many issues long-term to truly be digital gold, but regardless whether that is true or not, ethereum is a technology for complex programmatic solutions and should not be tied down to the price action of mere "digital gold"

I used to think this way, but it’s worth digging on why Bitcoin still has ~5x Ethereums market cap. “Digital gold” is a powerful idea.

Eth can win there but only once a critical mass of people see Bitcoin as unsustainable/temporary while Ethereum is sustainable/forever.
