BTC is to currency what Ethereum is to stocks.

The issuance of BTC is the result of arriving at consensus in the ownership of currency holders. Issuance of ETH is the result of arriving at consensus in the logical state of the common enterprise.

i think this is partially true, but i think ethereum is much bigger - consensus is important to more digital systems than just those for finance
