Pretty depressing take, but I don't disagree with it. It's rough out there, and you've got to have an entrepreneurial approach. GD alone is not enough to back a good position/freelance gig; branching out, learning new skills, and pivoting are key imho. Folks that never run themselves as a business are going to struggle
