all about those decks, metrics, and landing pages baby. gotta specialize and adapt to the times. but most importantly learn how to sell your skillset to people who need it. i see like 10-20 designers getting all the work and making mid/high 6 figures doing the same work over and over again.

dude from reddit is just pessimistic, you gotta go entrepreneurial way to get money, whatever field you’re in otherwise you’ll only get what other people are willing to throw at you and where economy is going there’s very little to get productized agencies help sell services a lot I think

Pretty depressing take, but I don't disagree with it. It's rough out there, and you've got to have an entrepreneurial approach. GD alone is not enough to back a good position/freelance gig; branching out, learning new skills, and pivoting are key imho. Folks that never run themselves as a business are going to struggle

Graphic design has always been on the stagnant side when it comes to salary at least here in Canada hence why many moved to UX/UI or Product Design these days. Top it off with all you can design subscription for cheap like Design Pickle, it became a race to the bottom unless you're a prestige designer.
