curious, did u try to selfhost? https://nextjs.org/docs/app/guides/self-hosting or using opennextjs on cloudflare? https://opennext.js.org/cloudflare/get-started#existing-nextjs-apps dockerized nextjs was a simple change (Dockerfile + output: standalone in next.config) but i still have to test perf

In my experience DX lags behind alternatives in many other areas - Any sizable nextjs project becomes slow to hot reload - Static generation can be a second class citizen - Errors a lot of times are extremely unhelpful - Updating to a new version can be a huge chore because of their feature churn I find it more useful as an all-in-one cheap starter solution but more expensive to maintain than alternatives

I’m using nextJS in a few projects. Both personal and work and self hosting. While I don’t like the coupling with Vercel, having the front end and server in a single repo is pretty convenient. I’ll take a look at your link here, if there was something simpler, I’d love to check it out
